In order to accelerate the realization of Chinese-style modernization with harmonious coexistence between man and nature, comprehensively promote the construction of a beautiful China, implement Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought, support high-quality development with a high-quality ecological environment, fulfill the " dual carbon " commitment and the responsibilities of environmental governance and ecological protection, the entire industry will work together to promote green and low-carbon development, build a pilot zone for a beautiful China, and paint a new picture of a beautiful China.
It is a particularly glorious and arduous task to give full play to regional advantages and characteristics, and to promote the construction of a beautiful China in stages according to local conditions, especially to show the magnificent landscape of the western region and the beautiful mountains and rivers of the central region. The land area of the western region of China accounts for about 60% of the country's land area, and it is rich in natural resources. It is rich in important underground mineral resources such as rare earth, bauxite, potassium salt, nickel, copper, uranium, thorium, coal, oil and gas, and its reserves account for more than 70% of the total reserves in the country. To develop and utilize the natural resources in the western region well is an inevitable requirement for achieving the " two centenary " goals of our country and realizing the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. While developing and utilizing the natural resources in the western region well, we must also strengthen the governance of the ecological environment and realize the green and sustainable use of resources. Since 2017, Chinese scientists have made a large number of important new progress in the field of natural resources and ecological environment health research in western China, especially in the evolution of travertine in world natural heritage sites and ecological restoration and conservation of the main scenic area after the earthquake, deep purification of complex uranium-containing wastewater and resource reuse, ecological evaluation and bioremediation of heavy metal pollution, development and application of efficient combined collectors for spodumene mines, full-chain treatment and disposal of pollutants and resource utilization, satellite remote sensing pollutant monitoring and prediction, research on driving forces of spatiotemporal changes in atmospheric pollution, exposure characterization of all components of air pollution and health effect mechanisms. In order to showcase the new research results in recent years, promote academic exchanges between domestic and foreign experts, and promote the high-quality development of sustainable development of natural resources and ecological environment health protection and governance in western China, the 8th " International Conference on Environment and Resources " and the 2nd "International Seminar on Natural Resources and Ecological Environment Health in Western China " are planned to be held .
The 8th " International Conference on Environment and Resources " and the 2nd " International Symposium on Natural Resources and Ecological Health in the West " will be held in Hanzhong, Shaanxi from July 19 to 21, 2024, for 3 days. The theme of the conference is: three-dimensional conservation of resources and energy, comprehensive ecological and environmental health, sustainable green and low-carbon development, focusing on China's water tower, ecological Qinling Mountains, livable Yellow River, beautiful Yangtze River, key resources, new energy, environmental health, ecological restoration, biodiversity and other global problems such as resources - environment - population - food , etc., to conduct cross-regional, cross-basin, and cross-industry comprehensive exchanges and discussions.
